Bar

16/box:
$28.50 ($1.78/bar)
LaraBar
offers Real Food, Raw Food that creates an unmistakable sense
of health and well being. These bars are high in natural complex
carbohydrates and proteins and healthy Omega oils from nut sources.
Instead of added synthetic vitamins, which are hard to digest
and assimilate, LaraBars contain naturally occurring vitamins,
minerals and antioxidants. Because the bars are not cooked or
processed, the real food ingredients contain living enzymes. This
means that the food is literally bursting with energy and nutrients
that are commonly killed when a food is cooked or containing processed
ingredients. You simply cannot find a healthier or better tasting
snack than LaraBar.
Creator Lara Merriken says 'I created LaraBar because of my firm
belief that the foundation of a healthy body, mind and spirit
is derived from what one eats. I believe that food is healthiest
and most satisfying in its simplest, most natural state."
LaraBar
is the official energy bar of the Auburn
International Triathlon, national professional championships
in Auburn, CA.
LaraBars
are never cooked and never processed, with six or fewer ingredients
in each bar and no extra filler ingredients. The delicious fruits,

Brad's Note: World class triathlete Nicole
DeBoom turned me onto LaraBars as she swears by them in her
training and traveling. These exotic flavors have a nice, clean
taste - none of the synthetic texture or heavily sweetened flavoring
that you find in commerical bars. This allows you to easily chew
and digest the bars even during a training session. Try some LaraBars
if you are looking for a real-food alternative to heavily processed
energy snacks.
Nicole
discussed how the LaraBars have improved her eating habits: "I
grew tired of reaching for another bagel or bowl of cereal between
workouts. It was always just bread bread bread. I needed something
with a little more oomph, something that would actually fill me
up and rev me up. When I discovered Larabars, my troubles were
over. Larabars are the perfect between-workout snacks. They're
so good, I even crave them for dessert!"

Joelle
Mancuso, a certified personal trainer who helped create
the Spinning indoor cycling program and currently a health-conscious,
athletic "supermom" with three kids in Simi Valley,
CA, had this to say about LaraBar: "LaraBars have fit into
my life so perfectly. As a mother of three youngsters, I'm always
looking for ways to feed them wholesome snacks without trans fats
or a list of ingredients longer than my arm. I was so pleased
to find that LaraBars only have a few all-natural ingredients.
My kids love the Apple and Cherry Pie flavors. I keep them in
the car just incase we need a quick source of energy."
"LaraBars have also been the answer to my newest hobby...I've
run 2 half-marathons in the last 6 months and I've used LaraBars
for my main source of energy before, during and after these events.
I'm training for the LA Marathon, my first, and I know that the
LaraBar will provide a great source of easily digestible nutrients
during the race."

And what you eat is healthiest and most satisfying when it's in

state. When consumed, they cause you to feel vibrant and alive.

Are
cashews and cocoa truly raw?
Heat
steaming is often used to extract cashews from the fruit of the
tree, leaving behind a toxic residue that can make the nut unsafe
to eat. It's unknown whether or not the nut is actually heated
during the process, which is at the center of the raw food debate.
Regardless, we feel that cashews are healthful and fit into a
raw food diet.
The
same goes for cocoa powder, which is ground from a roasted bean.
Chocolate Coconut LäraBar uses cocoa powder mainly as a spice.
But in our opinion, the health benefits, including high antioxidant
content, far outweigh the fact that cocoa has been heated.
Is
LäraBar good for kids?
Yes!
Kids love the flavor and texture. Moms and Dads don't have to
worry about added sugars and supplements because LäraBar
is made with only unsweetened fruits, nuts and spices. Another
great benefit is that every LäraBar is equal to 1 ½
servings of fruit according to the USDA Food Guide Pyramid.
How
many carbs are in LäraBar?
There
is a moderate amount. But they're good carbohydrates, derived
from fruit and, ultimately, necessary for the body to function.
They also contain fiber and plant phytonutrients that help the
immune system. It's the processed and refined carbohydrates you
should avoid-the kind found in white flour, white rice, and added
sugars such as corn syrup, fructose, sucrose and grape juice.
What
about the fat in LäraBar?
Plant-based
fats are healthier than animal fats. The fat in LäraBar comes
from raw almonds, walnuts and cashews-all plant-based fats containing
Omega 3 & 6 essential fatty acids which have been proven to
reduce LDL cholesterol and help protect the heart.
