While exercising, you sweat and burn calories in the form of glucose, converted from stored glycogen in your liver. Unless you replace what you lose during and right after training, you will become dehydrated and energy depleted. Cytomax contains Metacarb and Alpha-L-Polylactate, proprietary forms of complex carbohydrate that provide long-lasting energy, not a quick sugar spike and corresponding letdown. Alpha-L-Polylactate has also shown in university research studies to reduce lactic acid buildup in your muscles, which causes that burning sensation when exercising at high intensity.

How Alpha-L-Polylactate Works

Alpha-L-Polylactate is an advanced carbohydrate molecule (lactate with the acid removed), which has proven in university studies to buffer lactic acid production in your muscles and provide a steady burning source of carbohydrate energy. Alpha-L-Polylactate accelerates the process of converting lactic acid back into glucose to be used as energy. Many people see 'lactate' and confuse it with the undesirable muscular waste product of the same name. The Alpha-L-Polylactate in Cytomax has an alkaline pH lactate with the acid removed. Its high-alkaline pH is the reason why drinking Cytomax buffers lactic acid production. Alpha-L-Polylactate accelerates the process of converting lactic acid back into glucose to be used as energy!

This means you can push your body harder during workouts without depleting your reserves and becoming exhausted at the end. Your improved performance is due to lower blood lactate levels, stabilized blood sugar levels and enhanced oxygen carrying capacity. In the hours after workouts, instead of feeling lingering fatigue, you will feel refreshed and replenished - even after even intense efforts.

Carbohydrate Levels and Hydration

Cytomax (when mixed according to directions) has an ideal 7% carbohydrate content, so it empties from your stomach at the same rate and provides the same hydration benefits as plain water. Drinks that contain too much simple sugar or an excessive carbohydrate content are difficult to assimilate and will linger in your stomach. You may feel bloated or succumb to muscle cramps when your fluid replacement drink does not efficiently reach your muscles.

How and when do I use Cytomax?

  • Before workouts/at rest: Drinking Cytomax right before your workout will provide you with the hydration and high-quality, readily available carbohydrates that you need to sustain high energy levels throughout your workout. If you are insulin-sensitive, Cytomax Lite may be a preferred choice before exercise or when you are hydrating at rest. In a standard 16-ounce water bottle, mix one to 1 1/2 scoops (or one single-serving packet) of Cytomax in cold water and shake vigorously. Drink about 15 minutes before training.
  • During workouts: Mix one to two scoops of Cytomax with cold water in a 16-ounce bottle (or proportionally more for larger bottles). Sip from the bottle periodically during your workout to ensure that you consume at least 32-ounces of fluid (water or properly mixed Cytomax) per hour. Drinking Cytomax during workouts will ensure that you obtain adequate calories to complete your workout without bonking or dehydrating. Bonking is a blood sugar-depleted state where you feel listless, lethargic, even dizzy and light headed. Your workout will suffer and so will your metabolism. Restricting calories while working out will not induce weight loss, it will induce poor workouts and a slowed metabolism. Similar problems will occur if you become dehydrated while exercising, which in extreme cases can be life threatening. Remember that thirst is not an indicator of hydration levels; by the time you get thirsty, it's too late. Use the guideline of 32 ounces per hour instead of your thirst.
  • After workouts: A post-workout bottle of Cytomax will ensure that you're adequately rehydrated, and help restock your muscles with glycogen to quicken recovery time.
